Huntley 158 Students, Parents & Community:

Join us on Thursday, November 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to celebrate Indigenous peoples! This celebration will include *FREE* admission for students, parents and community members of all ages. There will be a book reading from children’s book author Maria Des Jarlait followed by storytelling and dancing presented by the Trickster Cultural Center. This will be an educational event that highlights the culture and history of Indigenous people.

The goals of Recognizing American Diversity (RAD) are to recognize, celebrate, and discover diverse perspectives and identities that have historically been underrepresented.  They work from the assumption that everyone benefits and grows from knowing more about one another.  Our Huntley community, and our country, is a collection of identities and beliefs, and we know that any one person rarely identifies with only a single group or identity.

For more information about RAD and a list of this month’s events, visit their website here. Consider getting involved to help highlight LatinX culture and stay tuned for more opportunities to recognize diversity in our schools and across the community.
